The objective of TRANSED 2010 is to review advances in research, profile international breakthroughs and explore perspectives for technological innovations in response to the mobility challenges of an ageing population and persons with disabilities. It will also be an occasion to determine where the challenges lie and to provide direction on how to address these challenges.

Delegates, including researchers, policy-makers, transport operators, consumers and other specialists from around the world, will be meeting in Hong Kong to engage in strategic and technical exchanges under the theme “Sustainable Transport and Travel for All”.

June 1 is the pre-conference workshop, June 2 to 4 is the main conference and exhibition and June 5-8 is the post conference study tour to China.

The Conference will pay particular attention the topic of “Accessible Tourism”, which is building momentum in Asia and the Pacific Region, as well as worldwide.

This event will also feature an exhibition showcasing the latest technological developments in accessible transportation and universal design.

Study visits will be arranged to Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing. These are a few of the main cities in China that have witnessed major developments in the last few years, including the Paralympics Games 2008 in Beijing, World Expo 2010 in Shanghai and Asia Para-Games 2010 in Guangzhou. Interested parties are encouraged to submit abstracts for papers and posters. All accepted abstracts and papers will be published in the conference proceedings. Authors of accepted poster abstracts are encouraged to write papers for inclusion in the proceedings.
