The Second European Mobility Debate: Driving change Sustainable Mobility for an Ageing society

Europe’s population is ageing and there is a close correlation between age and disability: two thirds of disabled people are over pensionable age. There are already 50 million disabled people in the countries of the European Union. Combined with the ageing population this number will continue to rise.
These trends, together with increasing reliance of European societies on personal mobility, mean that access to a car and the ability of older and disabled people to drive will be key factors in determining the economic health and wellbeing of our communities over the coming years.
This Conference will provide a focus on the personal mobility needs of Europe’s large and growing population of older and disabled people, on the legal and technical changes that must be made to meet those needs and the potential market this represents for the automotive industry
