Tsinghua’s IT Usability & HCI Laboratory

The mission of is Tsinghua’s IT Usability & HCI Laboratory is to create usable and enjoyable experiences with technology through interdisciplinary research in engineering, design, computer science, and the behavioral and social sciences. We study how people design, implement and use interactive computer systems, and how computers affect individuals, organizations and society.

This laboratory develops intelligent evaluation and diagnostic tools for usability and HCI research. The laboratory acts as a place where information technology products and services to be marketed in Mainland China are tested and studied.

This laboratory has been doing the following areas:

  • Cross-Cultural Design.
  • Context-Aware Computing.
  • Design for All.
  • Computer Game Study.
  • Human-Robot Interaction.
  • Relevance of Searching.

 

Main function / role in OASIS:

Partner participating WP3.5 development (Smart workplaces applications) and WP 4.1 development (UI for users, carers and control centre).
