Physical Realization Research Center focuses to fuel Motorola's growth by integrating sensing and wireless communications technologies, bringing intelligence to the nodes/devices and becoming the leading provider of turnkey solutions for Motorola's Growth Engines and Businesses. Focus areas are mobile assistant solutions using context information and sensor devices for supporting daily activities, preventive health, fitness and nutrition, short range communication (NFC, RFID, Zigbee, BT) interacting in heterogenic sensor and communication networks, data mining and knowledge management for decision support in complex environments, printed and polymer electronic for low cost tracking and monitoring applications. The Physical Realization Research Center is active in integrating communication and monitoring technology into textiles as well. The integration of vital sensors into working clothes of fire fighter has been tested successfully. Several patents have been granted in the field of biomonitoring as well as for simplyfing user interaction and for providing easy and understandable feedback
