- Evaluate and test technologies (Telco and IT) from multiple vendors in order to advance mobile communication and/or improve service quality,
- Design, prototype and evaluate innovative advanced services and user experience for mobile communication environment,
- Support VODIT’s role of “Centre of Excellence” within Vodafone Group,
- Be a showcase laboratory to promote and demonstrate technical innovation to relevant stakeholders,
- Contribution to RnD programs with trials, scouting and analysis on innovative services and applications.
- Support In Privileged Partnership with Nokia:
- Constitute a lab platform facility where to first experiment with early prototypes coming out from Nokia research and development activity, as part of the first pioneer operators,
- Explore and pioneer together with Nokia new technological solutions and applications for mobile communications.Technical Expertise Areas are: IMS/Core network, Radio, Wireless Short Range Communications, Smart Card
Main function / role in OASIS:
- Represents the interests and know-how of telecom providers in the project.
- Leader of WP 4.2 “Network Connectivity and seamless service provision”

) “Science and Industry community” manager. Degree in Electronic Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, with specialization in Telecommunication and Informatics (1991). From 1991 to 2000 in CSELT: main expertise: traffic and protocol performance analysis on mobile networks, simulating services on radio environment (GSM, DECT, TETRA). Test instrumentation development/programming for terminals/equipment certification (DECT, GSM); Mobile network architecture analysis and development (TETRA, GPRS, UMTS, IMS).From 2000 joined to Vodafone Omnitel NV, initial role as “UMTS service development” manager (MMS, streaming, video services, online data charging) up to 2003, followed by two years as “UMTS service system engineering” manager, dealing with feasibility analysis of UMTS services for deployment. In the last two years the activities have been devoted to standard development and borderline technologies analysis (VoIP architectures and detection methods, All IP architectures, sensor networks analysis).
